The Decentralization Research Center (DRC) is hiring a communications manager who will play a vital role in the public-facing side of the organization, as well as assist with operations and execution of events.
The DRC is quickly becoming the leading think tank for decentralization, an area of critical political and technological importance over the next decade. We have the network, momentum, and the right team to do it.
Your goal will be to implement a comms/PR strategy that helps the DRC reach its target audience of high signal academics, policymakers, and industry leaders, and to continue building its reputation as a leading think tank.
Your Role
Part-time, remote, and with flexible hours — ideal for someone looking to achieve the following:
- Build an incredible network in blockchain and AI
- Organize and host events at top universities across the globe (previous events were hosted at Stanford University, Harvard University, and the University of Toronto)
- Scale an organization’s online presence via socials, podcasts, newsletters, opinion pieces and soundbites to traditional media, and publicity around events
- Understand the advocacy process in emerging tech across the globe
- Grow a newsletter with a niche focus
- Create and produce a world-class podcast with guests that have already included key figures in the US emerging tech landscape
- Learn how to promote a brand online and in-person
Ideal Candidate Qualities
- Passion for emerging tech industries
- Exceptional writing and organizational skills
- Self-starter, quick learner with sense of urgency, highly driven and proactive —keen to create process and structure and strive for continuous improvement
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, growth-stage and multicultural environment, and taking accountability
- 2+ years experience working in PR/Comms
- Familiarity with Wordpress and Figma a bonus
